I NEED TO KICK IT UP A NOTCH

Here I am having a wonderful dinner with my husband and my in-laws. I think that I am looking great. O.K. I know, John is covering me so you can't really see me.

Here I am with no one covering me. I am even having problems sitting in booths at restaurants. I do think that that's saying something. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!

It doesn't help that my in-law are small people.

I need to kick it up a notch. I do need to get an exercise program into my routine. I have so many excuses. The main excuse is that I need new walking shoes. The shoes that I have are 10 years old and they really don't fit. Well Suzanne, BUY NEW SHOES. No more excuses.

HAWAII HERE I COME

Last October, 2008. John and I were able to go to Hawaii. We had a wonderful time, but I was 50 pound and more to much. We are going to Hawaii again this October. We will be staying at the Pink Hotel, very posh, and I want to be able to look better, look healthier, look sexier and to be able to be more physical. I am on my way to being all this.

My mantra is to become more healthy, my wellness is my number one goal and I like myself. Everyone out there, have a good day so will I.

Part II-ANTI AGING JOURNEY

So I need to finish my trip to the pharmacist. Well I went to see a registered pharmacist who is a MS Candidate for American Academy of Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine. What a impressive title. On April 10, 2009, I had an hour with her as a New Patient Comprehensive consultation ($100). She ask that I take a saliva test to see what my hormone levels are at. Of course this was not covered with my insurance ($250).
It would also be good for me to read the book, HRT: The Answers ($20.00)

Now she recommended Alpha Z for women vitamin ($23), Vitamin D ($13), CholeRx ($20), CoQmac CF ($60), and Progensa20 ($40) and the grandmother of all Omega 3 ($60, not shown in picture). The Sam's version of Omega 3 would not do.

With my pockets empty, I walked out of this Pharmacy with the promise that I will be healthier, sexier, happier and wiser but not wealthier.

So my journey to wellness is on going. I am now taking more pills then I have ever have. I am believing that this is a journey in the right direction. I did read the book and the promises are big.

Now my next step is to get into a exercise program. This will be my next post.

THE ANTI-AGING PHARMACIST VISIT - I

You are visiting a person who very seldom takes medicine or visits a doctor. Five years ago I noticed that my body was changing. I was going into menopause and I notice that there wasn't a lot of information for me during this change. Then 4 years ago I was having back problems, a bulge disk. I was overweight but I was becoming more so, especially around the abdominal.

Then I visited a doctor 2 years ago and he stated that I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I was sure that it would go away if I lost some weight. So a year later I went back and the blood pressure and cholesterol was still high and I had not lost any weight. Who was I fooling? I was fooling myself. My mother died of a heart attack and my father died with Alzheimer's.

I can do something different then what they did. It's now. I need to take control.

So I started to take my medicines for blood pressure and cholesterol.

Then last year I notice that I wasn't sleeping as well. I was snoring and I was waking up with panic attacks. This was scaring me. So I went and had a sleep study and the Doctors gave me a C-PAP machine.

I need to stop. I have the underliner on and I am become frustrated with this post. I'll finish my Anti-Aging Pharmacist Visit II later.

My Goal to Wellness

I have a goal to work on my wellness (health). I am 56 years old, I am over weight, I have high blood pressure, my cholesterol is high, I'm having back problems and I am post menopausal.

Why am I sharing this? I want to start a journal and I thought it would be fun to share my journey on a blog.

Above is a picture of me now with my grandchildren. My grandson and my purse are hiding most of my weight, but you get the idea. My weight is a whopping 250 pounds and most of that weight is in my abdominal area. Which puts me in a high risk zone. I want my next 10 years to be better than this.

This is what I looked liked at 26. I was young, adventures, fit and full of energy. I know that I will never be this young again but it would be nice to be fit and have some energy back.

I went to a pharmacist and her recommended treatment for my post-menopausal phase and how to fight anti-aging will be my next post.

I need to sign off and get going. This was fun to share.
